YOUR NEW ADVENTURE AWAITS

7-night aboard the
MSC World America

Roundtrip from Miami, Florida Sailing year-round —
Miami, Puerto Plata, San Juan, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve & Back to Miami

There's a reason the Eastern Caribbean is the cruise everyone comes back to. It doesn't just deliver beaches — it delivers a rhythm. Mornings in a new port, afternoons by the water, evenings on a ship that feels more like a floating city than a vessel. From the energy of Old San Juan to the quiet, almost unreal blue of Ocean Cay, this is the classic Eastern Caribbean route done right, aboard the newest ship MSC has ever built.
This 7-night sailing on MSC World America is a week of full days and full sea days in equal measure — Dominican beaches, Puerto Rican history, two days at sea to actually enjoy the ship, and a private island finish that's hard to leave. No rushing between hotels, no repacking. Just the Caribbean, slowly. MSC World America sails this exact itinerary on a regular rotation throughout the year from Miami — which means there's flexibility to find a sail date that fits your calendar. If you've ever wanted to experience cruising the way it's meant to feel — easy mornings, turquoise water, and good company — this is the one to start with.

CRUISE HIGHLIGHTS

MSC WORLD AMERICA

Why go on this Caribbean cruise?

There’s something about the Caribbean that never gets old — even after years of travel, the colour of that water still stops me. This particular route is one of the classics: Puerto Plata for that slow island pace, San Juan for the history and the energy of its old town at night, and Ocean Cay, MSC’s private reserve, as the perfect last stop before sailing home.

What makes this one different is the ship. MSC World America is brand new — the line’s largest, boldest investment in the North American market, built specifically for this region. Seven themed districts, a swing that launches you out over the edge of the ship, and an Eataly at sea. It’s the kind of ship where the sea days are just as much the destination as the ports.

I wanted to share this one with my audience because it’s everything I love about cruising done well: no rushing, real moments in each port, and a ship genuinely worth spending two full days enjoying. It sails this route regularly throughout the year, so there’s no single date to chase — just reach out and I’ll help you find the sailing and stateroom that fits.

Days 1 - 2

Embarkation in Miami & Sea Day

Embarkation from 14:00 | Departure 16:30 Your journey begins in Miami, the gateway to the Caribbean, where MSC World America — the newest and largest ship in the fleet — sits ready at PortMiami. Boarding begins in the early afternoon. Once settled into your stateroom, take time to explore the ship's seven themed districts before she pulls away from the skyline by early evening. The rhythm immediately shifts. The horizon opens. The journey begins.

Day 2 is a full day at sea, and the first real chance to settle into life onboard. Spend the morning by one of the six pools, the afternoon testing the Cliffhanger swing or wandering the dining promenade of The Harbour, and the evening at one of nineteen onboard restaurants — from a Mediterranean grill to Eataly at sea. There is nowhere to be and nothing to rush. Out here, the ship itself is the destination.

Days 3 - 4

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic & San Juan, Puerto Rico

Day 3 brings you to Puerto Plata on the Dominican Republic's north coast, with the ship in port from 09:00 to 17:00. You may choose a relaxed beach day at one of the region's palm-lined stretches of sand, or a guided tour through the historic centre and its amber markets, where this stretch of coastline has traded in fossilised resin for generations. For something more active, an excursion into the surrounding hills reveals waterfalls and coffee plantations tucked just beyond the coast. Puerto Plata rewards an easy pace — a swim, a market stall, a cold drink by the water.

On Day 4, the ship arrives in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and stays in port until 23:00 — late enough to experience the city after dark. An optional walking tour through Old San Juan reveals centuries of colonial history, from the imposing sea walls of El Morro to the cobblestone streets of the old town. In the afternoon, time is yours to wander independently, browse local galleries, or simply sit with a coffee in a quiet plaza. By evening, with the ship still docked, San Juan's old town comes alive — restaurants spill onto the street, music drifts from open doorways, and the fortress walls glow under the city lights. Few ports reward staying late quite like this one.

Days 5 - 6

Two Glorious Caribbean Sea Days

Days 5 and 6 are entirely at sea — two full days to slow down completely. This is the heart of what makes this itinerary special. Spend a morning at the spa, an afternoon in a hammock with an ocean view, and an evening watching a Broadway-style show in the ship's main theatre. For the more active, there are open-air sports courts, a well-equipped gym with panoramic views, and entertainment programmes for adults and children alike throughout both days. By the time Day 6 closes, you will have found your own rhythm onboard — exactly as a sea day should work.

Days 7 - 8

Ocean Cay Marine Reserve in the Bahamas & Back to Miami

Day 7 brings the ship to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC's private island in the Bahamas, arriving at 07:00 and remaining until 18:00. Once a sand-mining site, the island has been transformed into a marine reserve with protected coral nurseries and pristine beaches. Climb the 165 steps of the iconic lighthouse for sweeping views across the reserve, snorkel above the coral beds, or claim a stretch of white sand and do nothing at all. It is, deservedly, the most photographed day of the cruise — and the perfect closing chapter before sailing home.

The last day is Disembarkation Day. After breakfast, the ship arrives back in Miami at 07:00, and you disembark carrying home a week of turquoise water, colonial old towns, and the particular kind of stillness that only happens at sea.
